The MBA School has organized a professional faculty team with anappropriate range of titles, ages, and backgrounds whilst following strictproceduresand standards regardingfacultyrecruitment.
Three types of faculty undertaking MBA training tasksare full-time faculty, part-time faculty and thesis supervisors. The full-timefaculty are responsible for the teaching ofcore MBA courses. The part-time faculty (including part-time faculty from both inside and outsideZJSU, visiting professors and practitioners from enterprises) are responsible for assigned teaching tasks. The main jobof practitioners is to guide the students towards participating in relevantmanagement practices and to give lectures which integrate theory with practice.Thesis supervisors are responsible for instructing students in relation todegree theses. At present, the MBA programme has 65full-time faculty, 50 part-time faculty and 147 thesis supervisors, whose educationbackgrounds and titles are shown in Tables 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 and 3.5. Detailed information regarding allfaculty members can be seen in Appendix 3-1 and 3-2.
Majors and research fields regarding the whole faculty team cover all MBAcourses. Age and professional title structure are appropriate to theorganization's goals, as are education backgrounds and industrial experience.The detailed features are as follows:
(1) Over 90% of the faculty possess doctoratedegrees with associate professors or above. This ensures the teachingquality.
(2) Over 79.13% of our faculty are from ZJSUand in charge of the core courses. The faculty from outside ZJSU is employedmainly to teach electives requiring practice and operation experience.
(3) Over 90% of our faculty of core courseseither act as corporate consultants or have been involved in enterpriseconsultancy projects, ensuringteaching quality in linking theory with practice.
(4) Most of our full-time faculty haveexperienced overseas exchange, or have returned after overseas study. The number of our faculty withoverseas exchange experience is 48, accounting for 73.85%, and those studyingoverseas for over 10 months accounts for 40% of the total.
