At 9:00am on Jan. 15, 2016, the Teaching Development Center of MBA school and the Center of Management Cases jointly held the “Workshop for Development, Writing and Teaching of Management Cases ”. Dean Mie Biao and Deputy Dean Chen Jue of MBA school, Deputy Dean of Management School , Deputy Dean of School of Accounting, Director Cheng Zhaoqian of Center of Management Cases and more than 20 course teachers from various schools who are interested in management development, writing and teaching participated in the workshop.

The workshop was held in two meeting places – Zhejiang Gongshang University and Wensli Group. In the morning, it was arranged in the school, inviting Professor Wang Shiliang (School of Management of Zhejiang University) and Professor Sun Yuan who have extensive experience in the respect of cases development and teaching to share the experience of cases development and writing. Professor Wang said that cases development shall focus on students; shall revive in a new guise and shall be on the scene. Later, Deputy Dean Chen Jue of MBA School held the workshop of MBA cases teaching. Professor  present expressed their own understanding. Professor expressed that the real value of cases is application and the provision of instructions of Ivey case base and case base of China Management Case-sharing Center provide great help for case teaching.

In the afternoon, those present come to Wensli Group for visit and communication. Director of Human Resources of Wensli – Director Wang introduces the development history and current operation mode of Wensli. After the completion of introduction, Director Wang asked teachers present two difficult questions: 1. How offline store makes profit (without extra investment)? 2. In 2017, Wensli intends to list, and how to prepare the incentive plan? Director Wang also invited the professors present to contact with him directly if they have good ideas. Professor Lou Tianyang who has been following the development of writing of blue ocean case of Wensli silk shared some thoughts and idea change process during developing the case. Finally, Professor Lou Tianyang suggested that course teachers shall design the line, guide students and control the pace while using cases in teaching. He proposed that teachers shall develop more cases, and if the cases developed by themselves are used in teaching, the background is more clear and it is easier to drive students to discuss and draw forth the key points of knowledge during cases discussion.

Finally, Deputy Dean Chen Jue of MBA school said in the meeting that MBA school will try its best to support course professors in the respect of management cases teaching; build the platform between enterprises and students; promptly give a feedback of enterprise needs to professors, so as to match the enterprise needs with the research of professors.
