In accordance with the spirit of Notice on the Announcement of List of Demonstrative Sino-Foreign Educational Cooperation Candidate Programs of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education (ZJBW [2017] No.5 Document) issued by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, the Master of Project Management (MPM) program jointly held by Zhejiang Gongshang University and Xikutimi Branch of University of Quebec in Rimouski is successfully included in demonstrative Sino-foreign educational cooperation candidate programs of Zhejiang Province. In this period, only 118 Sino-foreign educational cooperation programs in Zhejiang Province are included in the list of the demonstrative Sino-foreign educational cooperation candidate programs of Zhejiang Province. The successful inclusion this time fully affirms the school-running achievement of MPM Program in the past 13 years.

After inclusion in demonstrative Sino-foreign educational cooperation candidate programs of Zhejiang Province, our School will pay high attention to the construction of demonstrative candidate programs and carefully organize their implementation and provide necessary investment in manpower and material resources. Provincial Department of Education provides preferential policy for the candidate programs included and strengthens the dynamic monitoring and guidance on the whole construction process of demonstrative Sino-foreign educational cooperation programs. We will further summarize the experience in Sino-foreign educational cooperation and speed up the program construction and form to the school-running characteristics to give play to the exemplary demonstration role in the further Sino-foreign educational cooperation programs of our School and other Sino-foreign educational cooperation programs in the province in deed.

Basic information of MPM Program

In accordance with related regulations of the People's Republic of China and relevant laws on the school-running management and implementation of Canada, Zhejiang Gongshang University and Xikutimi Branch of University of Quebec in Rimouski hold MPM Program through friendly negotiation and cooperation in accordance with the principle of equality and mutual benefit. MPM Program is intended to cultivate a group of project management experts who master the law of market economy, are familiar with the rules of international project operation and can conduct effective management of the whole process. MPM Program was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee Office of the State Council (XWB [2003] No.124 Document) in December 2003 and reviewed and approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006 and the program approval No. is MOE33CA1A20030105O. In 2013, the program passed the Sino-foreign educational cooperation evaluation of the Ministry of Education; in 2016, the Ministry of Education reviewed and approved the delayed declaration of MPM again and the valid enrollment period is from 2017 to 2020. The number of student enrolled in each period of MPM Program is 90 and the program duration is 2 years. Since September 2004, MPM Program has enrolled 1072 in which 866 have obtained the Master’s Degree of Project Management conferred by University of Quebec in Rimouski. Graduates of MPM Program are widely distributed in such industries as construction industry, manufacturing industry, banking and financial industry and communication industry and have become leaders and backbones of project management in their respective organizations. Through the systematic learning of MPM Program and linking theory with practice, many famous programs in the province are implemented and developed well.
